BEHIND THAT FACADE

Saturday 30 March 2013

March was a "record-breaking month" for me. It was the first time I've been seen in the horrible smart 4 uniform (I don't even know why they call it the smart 4 when you look quite stupid in it) 3 times in an entire month. I know 3 sounds very little but I don't like people seeing me in the smart 4 uniform, so much so that the only friend outside the army who had seen me in person in it was Denise.

I made 4 meet ups in a week for the first time in my life, starting with Koon Teng and Hui Ying, what we call a miraculous group coz of the way we became friends. We went for dinner at Bedok Point before going all impromptu and headed to Marina Bay Sands for the scenic night view of the place. It had a nostalgic effect on me as it was the venue for my POP after 17 gruesome weeks of Basic Military Training.

I met June the very next day to "exchange gifts" at Parkway Parade, my first time there in slightly more than a year. The place changed quite a bit since the last time I was there. We walked around aimlessly, looking at clothes, umbrellas, chocolates and our focus of the day, faceless mannequins! And for a finale, we ended up in a pet shop (I know right). HAHAH!

I met up with my SIP clique after almost 2 years. Because of Atiqah's inconsistent cravings, we landed ourselves in Tampines, where we had prata for a late dinner. It was a pity that Yie Yng and Akmal couldn't join us.

Lastly, for the 3rd time in 3 months (4 if I had accepted their invitation for Amanda's sending off breakfast), I met Phenol at Breeks for yet another dinner. Later, I followed them to shop at their favourite $2 store, Daiso. And stupid Platonic Friend had to play Merry Go Round with me and Denise on our way home. LOL~

And tomorrow, I'm going to meet my other Platonic Friend for lunch. =D.

1 more IPSC, 1 more report, 5 more days and I will be out of Battalion HQ for my National Service Transition Training. That means I'm at the end of my active National Service term! WOOHOO!

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY
Teo Qi Yun

Well, I could type a composition on her but there's nothing she has never heard of before. I just want to reiterate what a great friend she is to me and I'm just glad to have her as a platonic friend. Stay happy and smile always, dear shortie.

Your cutest friend~

Monday 4 March 2013

Talking to my dad, looking back on my younger days, I realised that it was he who indirectly taught me how to be a guy. Not a perfect guy or a gentleman per se, but just a normal guy.

Through almost 23 years of my life, I was taught that
  • Crying is a sign of weakness for a guy (which I found out, isn't exactly true)
  • Pampering should not given to a guy but shown by him (towards females)
  • A guy should have unwavering principles
  • A guy should have a sense of control over himself
  • A guy should be able to compliment ego with confidence (well, maybe. LOL)
  • A guy should have utmost respect for his female counterparts

Crazy to think about it but these traits are somehow imparted in me (not all of it of course).

And that is probably why there are some girls out there who should thank their lucky stars that they were born females or they would have got a perfect tongue lashing from me.
